1. DESCRIPTION
1). Clear yellowish to the brown liquid of oil
2). Naphthenic acid is the name for an unspecific mixture of several cyclopentyl and cyclohexyl carboxylic acids with molecular weight of 120 to well over 700 au. The main fraction are carboxylic acids with a carbon backbone of 9 to 20 carbons. The naphtha fraction of the crude oil refined is oxidized and yields naphthenic acid. The composition differs with the crude oil composition and the conditions during refined and oxidation.
2. APPLICATIONS
Naphthenic Acids are used successfully in:
1). Coating driers Naphthenic acids metal salts are added to paints and inks to accelerate drying
2). Fuel & Lubricants
3). Textile & Fabric Care
4). Rubber & Tire Manufacturing
5). Polymers & Tire Manufacturing
6). Metal Working
7). Wood Treating
8). Asphalt & Concrete
